WONDERFUL Rare Vintage Native American Turquoise Mini Shell Duck Fetish Necklace

Description: Delightful antique/vintage Native American, Zuni sterling silver turquoise, jasper and mini cowrie shell duck fetish necklace. This rare necklace is 17 1/4” long and weighs 7.6 grams. The little duck fetishes measure from 5/8” to one inch in length. The necklace portion is strung with tiny turquoise heishi beads interspersed with eleven little shell ducks that have white shell bodies with turquoise heads or top-knots, red jasper throats and/or tails or turquoise tails so there are a variety of little duck fetish designs in this necklace. This necklace is finished with sterling silver cones and a sterling silver hook and eye clasp. ***IMPORTANT…..PLEASE NOTE: One of the little ducks is missing his turquoise top knot and one other duck is missing his tail.***. These two little missing pieces are not obvious, by any means, but I want the potential buyer to be aware of this. It seems to be a fairly common issue with these duck shell necklaces. This necklace is completely original. It has not been re-strung. The ducks and turquoise heishi has been strung on a fabric thread and it has stretched a bit, so there is some spacing between the cones and the turquoise heishi beads. This is also common. This necklace could be re-strung, if desired. I prefer to leave my necklaces in their original Native American crafted condition if at all possible. This necklace is certainly wearable as it is. It is definitely collectible, though. These necklaces are not common. There is a tremendous amount of work involved in making them. Each little duck has a lot of time-consuming and careful craftsmanship involved in creating the finished product. This necklace has been professionally tested as sterling silver.
