Description: Up for “Buy it Now” or “Best Offer” is an original full “wraparound” paperback book cover oil painting painted by my late brother George Arthur Bush. (Not to be confused with any political members. We are not related) This original oil painting was created in 1988 for the novel series “Wild Texas Winds” by Author Kit Prate, published by Zebra Books. This is from the ORIGINAL book that came out in 1988. This book was re-released in 2015 and features a different cover. Sorry but I do not have one of the original book covers to include. I had no trouble finding this book by doing a web search for the book title and Author. The photo of the book cover that I have posted if from a thumbnail photo that was blown up then I simply took a photo of the computer screen. That accounts for the poor photo quality. The painting is a “wrap around” cover art item that covers the whole book cover, front and back. It was created on Masonite board first coated with acrylic Gesso. It is painted in oil and sprayed lightly with acrylic clear varnish. Truly a stunning work of art that features bright colors and stunning detail. Painted when my brother was at the top of his game. At a point where he was ranked in the top 5 cover art illustrators in the country. The full outside dimensions are 20 inches wide by 16 ¼ inches tall. The painting itself on the board measures 17 inches wide by 14 ½ inches tall. About the artist; George A. Bush (1953 - 2023) His professional career spans from the mid 70's up to the last project he completed around 2003 and that was a sculpture of the late, great Frank Frazetta. Commissioned by Mrs. Ellie Frazetta, George spent 3 painstaking years creating this sculpture. It was to be cast to make copies that were to be sold at the Frazetta museum. As fate would have it, the person who inspired Geroge's art career ended up being George's last work of art. The sculpture deal ended up falling through due to someone in the Frazetta family simply changing their mind. Three years of struggling to see what he was working on turned out to be a big waste of time and extreme effort. The term “starving artiest” truly applies here. And the sculpture he worked so hard on is simply a stunning piece of work. A cruel twist of fate struck my brother George starting in the mid 90's when he started to have problems with his eyesight. He pushed on with his artwork for several more years before it was found out that he suffered from Multiple Sclerosis (MS). I would visit him, watching him create his works of art with several pairs of glasses taped together with masking tape so he was able to see. Slowly the MS took from him the ability to do what he loved. Historically his paintings have sold for up to $9,500.00 and are sure to increase in value as time goes on. George's Credits include; RANDOM HOUSE / BALLANTINE / FAWCETT BOOKS / MARVEL COMICS GROUP / EPIC MAGAZINE / WARNER BOOKS / SIMON & SCHUSTER / POCKET BOOKS / DANBURY MINT / HARLEQUIN BOOKS / VICTOR BOOKS / THOMAS NELSON PUBLISHING / THE FRANKLIN MINT / HARPER COLLINS / THE BRADFORD EXCHANGE / LEISURE BOOKS / BMI / ZEBRA BOOKS / DOUBLEDAY BOOK CLUB / TYNDALE HOUSE PUBLISHING / T.V. SHIPPING... The painting will be well protected for shipping. I wont be packing the painting up till it has sold, so please allow one to two business days for shipping. The painting will be insured for the full sale amount and signature conformation will be required. I am charging $35.00 for shipping. Please keep in mind that eBay now takes out a “Final Value Fee” out of the charge postage amount and PayPal gets their 3% so I never actually receive the $35.00 I am charging. I most always end up loosing money on shipping while eBay always makes money on shipping. Just does not seem right! There will be a $45.00 charge for shipping to Alaska, Hawaii and Puerto Rico.
