Description: Vintage Shakespeare's House Bookends made by Jennings Brothers Manufacturing Company, Bridgeport, CT. Jennings Brothers added a line of high-quality bookends in the 1920s to their manufacturing operations and produced some of the most finely crafted art metal pieces throughout the 1920s and 1930s. Jennings Brother’s timely and expensive production techniques relied on the talent and handwork of expert artists, sculptors and metal craftsmen. All of their pieces are made of cast gray metal. Each weighs roughly 1.5 lbs and is 4 1/2 inches tall. Bookends are in fantastic condition. Could also be used as a doorstop for a Shakespearean themed library door.
