Description: Of all the Griswold oval roasters out there, the No 3 is quite possibly the hardest one to locate. This listing is for the No 3's pot only. I recently discovered this in a pile of items to be cleaned. There is no lid, but the part number 2627 would be the matching pot for the non-lettered cover. Unfortunately, there is a hairline crack that is "sealed" on the bottom of the pot (crack does not extend to any edge of pot). It can be seen on the inside surface, but almost impossible to see on the outside. You need to angle the pot just so against the light for the crack to appear on the outside There is also a high spot induced during the casting process that makes the pot has a slight wobble (see photos). Despite these issues, This pot is in very good condition. There are no signs of any corrosion outside or inside. No chip, repairs and does not spin. This item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process ensures the removal of all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. The item is lightly seasoned with one round of Crisco at 450 for 1 hour. This item was photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, items may take on a brown color. Items are much darker under normal light. Photos are part of the item’s description. Please use them for a clearer understanding of items’ overall condition. If you have any questions, please let me know.
