These printer letter block & plate engravings are fantastic art pieces that can be framed, used as a backsplash, or a variety of decorations. Plate was created for the Universal Bulb Co. The owner, Mr. Cronquist, was an importer of European bulbs from the 1920s to the 1970s. He started his business in New York, moved to Gastonia, NC, and then retired here in Chapel Hill, NC. Early on, the company hired an engraver to create steel, brass, copper and wood print blocks and plates for the packaging of products as well as to make seed, bulb, and floral, botanical, blooming flower catalogs.
