Description: Wonderful collection of vintage c. 1920's - 1930's hand-painted shoe stretchers. Four matching pairs, three featuring Orientalism motifs with hand-painted doll heads and one decorated with an Arts and Crafts floral design. Shaped wood ends with flat metal bar supports. Two pairs have partially ribbon-wrapped metal bars, with one green, orange, and black stretcher having an attached green bead. Doll heads and egg shaped tips measure 1 - 1 1/4"Wood toe box pieces measure approx. 2.5" x 1 3/4"Length on all is approx. 11 3/4" to 11 7/8" Condition - This collection was purchased from an estate and is being sold in as-found, uncleaned condition. All show signs of age and use, with some paint loss, soiling from storage, and loss of ribbon coverings on two pairs.
