Vintage Bent Wood Armchair – Basketweave Backrest – Upholstered Seat

Description: Offered here is this Vintage Bent Wood Armchair with basketweave backrest and upholstered seat. The chair is in good condition, and is sturdy, however, the basketweave caning at the bottom of the backrest is torn and will need to be repaired. I am unsure of the age or manufacture of the chair. It has a lovely bent wood design, with caning wrapped joints, and arched brass spreader supports. It has nice, lightly carved accents at the top edges of the backrest, and the cane basket weave design of the backrest is a unique interesting feature. The bottom portion of the backrest has some padding inside the caning, for added back support. There are a few light surface scratches on the finish of the chair, which looks like it has a slightly antiqued washed finish. The chair upholstered seat is in good condition, with no tears but does have some light stains on it. It could possibly be cleaned. The chair also has brass feather plume accents on the front of the front feet that matches the spreader supports. The chair is 40” tall at the top of the backrest, 25” tall at the armrests, 20” tall at the seat, 24” wide across the front, about 20” wide across the seat inside the armrests, 19” deep at the seat, 27” long total, front to back including the slight sleigh curve of the backrest. This is an interesting rarely seen armchair that is sure to be a conversation piece in your home.
