Vintage Artisan Taxco Mexico Inlaid Sailfish Sterling Silver Earrings Signed

Description: Authentic sterling silver artisan made Taxco, Mexico inlaid sailfish dangle earrings. These vintage earrings feature a lovely pair of handmade sailfish or marlin. The life-like fish have a delicate and have a graceful look and feel. The center of each sailfish is inlaid with a pattern of dark rich purple mosaic. I'm unsure if the purple pieces are glass, imitation of gemstone. The fins and beak of the marlin have darker oxidized lines. A nicely designed and crafted pair of fish. The fish are suspended from shepherd hook ear wires and move gently back and forth with motion from the wearer. From top to bottom the sailfish measure nearly three-quarter inches while side to side is close to one inch. Stamped on the back of each earring is "Mexico", the country of manufacture, "925", denoting sterling silver in fineness, the letters "TA" or TJ", (not sure about the letters) for Taxco and the designer and "133" for the silversmith/maker. The earrings have a warm darker patina that could be left intact or polished bright. I will let you decide. The earrings have been lightly cleaned but not polished. Show age-appropriate wear but overall, nice estate condition. Combine to weigh a very solid but comfortable 9.6 grams. These fun and super cute sailfish earrings would make a wonderful gift or self-purchase. Looks great when worn and will soon become a go to favorite.
