Vintage 1930s 1940s Futuristic Sharkfin Taffeta Quilted Point Shoulder Bias Gown

Description: With a brilliant futuristic design, the 1930s gown features truly stunning sharkfin taffeta material in a purpley-blue with dramatic large pointed shoulders, which are quilted for added texture which is mimicked in the flared peplum and along the hemline. In a rare larger size for a 1930s dress, this piece pulls over the head with no zippers but ties at the back with a button closure at the back of the neck. This gown is perfect for an evening occasion and is sure to turn heads especially if you're one to make an entrance! Measurements Bust 34-36 Waist 31 Shoulder to Shoulder 16/17 (technically open) Hips 40 Shoulder to Waist 14/15 Waist to Hem 44 * Note I was able to get in this with a 38 bust, 31 waist, and 42 hips but felt it was too snug on my chest Condition: Very Good This lady is beautiful but had some imperfections. She has any six tiny holes on the bust around the neck tie and a few more on the back near the closure button. There are a few small tears along the back opening. There is a repair along the back waist hem. On the inside of the sleeve, there's a pale white mark, not visible when worn. Final note but not visible, the previous owner raised the waist; I removed those stitches so the skirt portion lays correctly. You can only see the marks from the stitching when you raise the peplum but I wanted to make sure it was included. Has been freshly dry cleaned. Still an incredible and fun vintage dress even with the flaws!
