Description: The Vincent Bach 1DFL appears to be a newer design, and this example is from the 2010s or so, based on the stamp and overall design. The code on box 18J-19 makes me think this could be from 2018, but I'm not entirely sure. Like many newer Bach flugel pieces intended to complement less-common rim sizes, the cup has a V-cup funnel found on these 2010s-present models [though some "classic" models seem to retain the goblet cup]. This gives the flugelhorn a somewhat diffuse sound, less defined than the goblet cup versions, but not especially dark. The result is a bit more upper register support and flexibility, though it may not be your desired sound. The funnel cup is a bit deeper [and much wider] than the A&S/Arnold Stölzel & Sons 6T-FL, and is similar to the Austin Custom Brass/ACB 1.25F+ "Custom Reserve" flugelhorn piece, Stork Vacchiano 1.5A+ cornet mouthpiece, and even a 1930s Martin 1 cornet mouthpiece. The 1DFL is markedly shallower than other 1-series Bach flugelhorn mouthpieces. From the 1980s on, the Small Morse taper shank was standard on these - recent examples seem to have even smaller shanks than the 1980s-2000s versions, which often still fit in Large Morse receivers. We try to show the Small Morse fit with the Conn 24A stencil from Willson [Kurath] in Switzerland, and oversize Large Morse fit with the Amati-Kraslice B-226/AFH-201, and sometimes a Conn 1F "Vintage One" leadpipe. This example is in great playing shape, with nice silver plating and a few microscratches & light nicks. The shank is in good shape and round, with a small bit of plating chipped at the shank opening. There are some water spots from cleaning visible in photos. Sold as-is, no returns, pay within 3 days.
