Description: This is a custom framed, double-matted, acid-free, archival quality presentation of the USS INDIANAPOLIS CA-35 at anchor in Thunder Bay, Alaska. This ship was sunk by a Japanese submarine in the closing days of WWII. It had just dropped off the components for the atomic bomb at Tinian Island and was going to the Philippine Islands without an escort.
