Description: This auction is for a sheet of (2) Series of 1902 Ten Dollars National Currency banknotes from The Merchants National Bank of Whitehall, New York. Graded Very Fine 20 by PMG (With Attached Top Selvage) with the comments of "Stained, Edge Splits." The holder is shopworn with scuffs and scratches. This sheet is very heavily circulated and has the following: very heavy folding and wear (also has many heavier creases and areas of wrinkled folding); overall staining and darker areas of spot/line/section stains (also has many smudges, many dark and dirty areas, many grease stains, many areas of discoloration); very heavy edge and corner wear (including corners heavily rounded and/or split/frayed/missing - edges very rough in many areas and oddly cut); many edge indents/nicks (multiple tears exist and many are very large - the two notes are only partially attached to each other as there are many internal tears and edge splits between the two); heavy surface wear and fraying (many areas of paper loss exist); many holes/inner tears and some are larger (almost all of which exist between the two notes); small pieces missing due to very heavy wear.
