Description: The Days I KnewLangtry, Lillie (Lady de Bathe) Published by Hutchinson & Co., London, undated, though a previous owner's inscription to the fep is dated 1926. Bound in the publisher's hardcover boards, titled in gilt to the spine. Spine ends and corners bumped, boards soiled, soe splitting to the upper outer edge of the spine. Pages are age toned, inner hinges weak, a few spots here and there, but generally ok internally. 319pp. Good- overall. Emilie Charlotte, Lady de Bathe (née Le Breton, formerly Langtry; 13 October 1853 – 12 February 1929), known as Lillie (or Lily) Langtry and nicknamed "The Jersey Lily", was a British socialite, stage actress and producer. One of the most glamorous British women of her era, Langtry was the subject of widespread public and media interest. Her acquaintances in London included Oscar Wilde, who encouraged Langtry to pursue acting. May have small flaws, and has probably been read, but should appear overall clean and attractive. Good (G): Will probably have significant wear or damage, although is still intact. Suitable for reading, but not necessarily a good gift copy. The old saying in bookselling is "good ain't good." Fair: Another term for Poor or Reading Copy: Heavily worn or damaged, a poor book will be readable but not attractive.
