European 1800s We purchased this example from a private owner who had in turn purchasedit from a dealer who salvaged it from a French Chateaux. Most likely designed and tooled in France. In very fine antique condition with only light surface marks commensurate with great age and former use. Beautifully tooled and fine cast design throughout. Both handles are fitted with a return spring mechanism. There is also a T-Handled Locking Bolt.
