Description: This is a used adjustable power supply made by Sorensen Power Supplies #SRL 40-25. It is fan cooled and rack mountable. It is a very high quality unit that was made in the USA (Manchester, NH) under the Raytheon Company. This is an industrial supply that is not comparable to the the light weight consumer import ones of today. This was built to last and designed to be repaired and calibrated. It came from NASA and the US government didn't buy junk back then. This supply was most likely $5K when new based on some documents I found. I tested it for several hours under load with 22 Amps of old car headlamps and it seemed to perform flawlessly. I didn't notice any real voltage drift from start to finish of my test. However, all electrical parts are sold as is with no returns. The screws on the barrier blocks on the back are missing. So it does need new screws or if you are really handy new barrier blocks might be better. It has coarse and fine adjustment knobs for both Voltage and Current. The input voltage is 105 to 125 V AC and can require as many as 22 Amps at full load. For most stuff you can put a regular plug on it and use it with any 15 Amp or 20 Amp outlet. If you are going to approach full load of 40 V @ 25 A output it should be hardwired in to a dedicated breaker of 25 Amps. The output is 0 to 40 Volts and can deliver as many as 25 Amps. I will include an SRL series instruction manual for this power supply. Model number SRL 40-25 If you turn the voltage about 40 the overvoltage light does come on. Turning the power off resets it. There is a "set" switch and an "adj" for overvoltage but I did not mess with that but I have no reason to think there is any issues with it. The thermal overload light never came on after hours of testing at close to full load. This supply has to be picked up in Clarks Summit, PA 18411. I am willing to ship it truck freight within the lower 48 states but you would have to e-mail me your address first for a quote. Normally LTL truck freight is around $300. I understand most people would not want to pay the freight so it is listed for local pick up only but that can be changed. I will not chance something like this with UPS or FedEx. It is simply way too heavy to ship that way at 94 LBS even though they will take it. It will rip through a box and get damaged for sure. To ship it correctly it would need a wooden crate or ship on a pallet with truck freight. If you have questions message me, I will reply.
