Description: Signed by Ray Bradbury on an index card laid in at title page, with a publisher’s review slip, this is a stated First Printing and a review copy of The Machineries of Joy (NY, Simon and Schuster, 1964) by Ray Bradbury, an early collection of twenty-one if his best short stories. Structurally, the book is in very good condition in a well intact binding with no damage to gutters or hinges but not as a tight as finer copy. Heel shows a very minor cant. Boards are nice with no bumps or tears BUT spine is somewhat soiled with a few large spots (see photo) – it’s predominant detractor. Interior contents are fine with no names, errant marks or foxing. In an archival cover, the dust jacket is price clipped but otherwise in very good + condition with no chips or tears but some light soiling and rubbing to panels. The signed card and publisher’s review slip are in fine condition. I purchased the book and the authenticated autographed card at a reputable book auction in the mid 1990’s. The opening bid is $95.00 with a Buy It Now well below the retail rate. Buyer pays $5.50 padded and boxed media rate shipping in the USA. I don’t ship directly out of country but will use EBay’s service. Books are returnable in same condition for a full refund.
