Description: This is a gorgeous and highly impressionistic RARE Early Old California Desert Plein Air Landscape Oil Painting on artist board, by early California female Impressionist painter Maud Perkins. This piece depicts a lovely and jewel-toned desert landscape scene, with ice blue snowcapped mountain peaks, and vibrant orange & green cactus and desert shrubbery. Signed: "Maud Perkins" in the lower left corner. This work likely dates to the 1930's - 1940's. Approximately 10 1/2 x 11 3/4 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 8 x 10 inches. Very good condition for nearly 100 years of age, with a few spots of light scuffing to the canvas, and mild edge wear to the original period frame (please see photos.)
