RARE *1961* OLIVER TWIST à Saint-Tropez Moi Préfère 7" 45rpm CANADA GROOVE GR-2

Description: Here's your chance to obtain what appears to be an EXTREMELY RARE vinyl collectible. ARTIST: OLIVER TWIST et ses twisters SIDE A: TWIST À SAINT-TROPEZ SIDE B: MOI J'PRÉFÈRE LE TWIST RELEASE YEAR: 1961 LABEL: GROOVE - GR-2 MADE IN CANADA by RCA-VICTOR LTD, MONTRÉAL. -- COMES IN 1950s-60s CANADIAN RCA-VICTOR SLEEVE -- THIS UNIQUE FRENCH TITLE was recorded in France on a more common RCA-VICTOR EP format, but it also made it to Canada mostly for Québec province and other Francophones. However, it's *much more* rare than the France release, and it is a SP with only the first track of each side of the corresponding French EP. This was a common practice in 1960s and 1970s: Canada released mainly SPs like the rest of North America, whereas France released mainly EPs like the rest of Europe. DON'T FORGET that the SP has the advantage that the track spans through the whole recording surface, so it gives a louder playback with more precision. CONDITION: The vinyl is VG with lots of scuffs and marks. It still gives a really *powerful* and *enjoyable* playback with only minimal crackling at beginning/end and just a few rare clicks elsewhere. The label has moderate wear, but still has a good look. This label design is, by itself, a rarity, but it's very cool. This record comes in a VINTAGE 1950s (early 60s) RCA-VICTOR sleeve it was sold in! While in France, they kept their 45s in Picture Sleeves, we, in Canada, bought our 45s in fragile Company Sleeves, we most of the time used to throw away and then stack our 45s on the pick-up and start the dance! These sleeves are a rarity today, and I restored the one coming with this record the best I can. These are as fragile as newspaper... SEE 4 PHOTOS!! Of course, you'll get the *exact* item shown.
