Amp developed problems due to age -- a repair attempt was made by another shop that installed fake parts which created additional problems2. We corrected a short in the power supply that was blowing the line fuse, and we replaced the fuse3. We repaired internal voltage regulators, so that all internal voltages are correct4. We replaced capacitors, resistors, BJ Ts, FETs, and repaired a couple opens caused by poor soldering technique 5. Multiple new output transistors were replaced with matching oriignals purchased from a reputable US supplier6. New power MOSFETs were installed from our stock and a reputable US supplier7. Bias was set so crossover distortion was not visible on our scope up to 20 kHz (crossover distortion minimized)8. DC offset was checked and is 1 mV or less per channel9. Bridging function was checked10. We checked flatness from 100 Hz to 10 kHz, and the channels were flat to within 5%11. After service, measured power output at 1 kHz into 8 Ohms, one channel driven, is 213 W RMS for the left channel & 215 W RMS for the right channel at clip.12. Total bridged power was more than 640 Watts RMS at 1 kHz into 8 Ohms at the onset of clipping13.
