Description: This is a lovely figurine of a Victorian woman, named Lady Gwendoline, dressed to go out, wearing a pale green bonnet with purple highlights that matches the ends of her sleeves and her bodice. Her fair hair is framing her face in the style made popular by Queen Victoria. Her red dress has beautiful flounces and she is carrying a parasol, which implies the day is sunny so and not too cold, as she daintily set out. Notice how delicate her hand holding the parasol is, and how beautiful her eyes are and the blush on her cheeks! This backstamp shows one Royal warrant given to Paragon by Queen Elizabeth in 1953. In 1957, Paragon changed the backstamp again with a more modern lettering of the word Paragon, so this figurine was probably made sometime between 1953-1957. Lady Gwendoline stands about 7 inches tall, is about 4 & 1/2 inches in width measuring from the flare at the front to the flare of her dress in the back, and she weighs just 12.5 ounces. They made the figurines out of bone china, and artists handpainted them. Real works of art! Lady Gwendoline is in excellent vintage condition, and has been displayed in my china cabinet for years. She has no chips or cracks, but there is a bit of wear on the bottom, including a scratch or two. She is ready to be displayed in your china cabinet or on a shelf or on your mantle to be admired! Please zoom in on the pictures and see the 360 degree video for a closer look. I pack with lots of bubble wrap for safe shipping and ship out quickly, sometimes same day, always by next business day, and sometimes on Saturdays if I can get to the post office by noon. Any questions, please ask, and thanks for looking!
