The party defended the opinions of small and medium-sized entrepreneurs, it had the highest voter support in municipalities with 2,000 to 5,000 inhabitants. The political party of the Czechoslovak Trade Union was founded on April 20, 1908 in Prostejov, the political headquarters of the party was originally in Olomouc, where the editorial office of the Trade Journal was based. In 1937, the party held its convention on June 20 in Uherske Hradiste on the occasion of the Slovacko Exhibition. (Note: poster related to this exhibition made by Joza Uprka is available in our eBay store) The party disappeared in 1938 by joining the National Unity Party, after the occupation its members joined the National Brotherhood. Although neither Rudolf Mlcoch nor other leading representatives were guilty of collaboration itself, according to the Kosice government program from April 1945 it was no longer allowed to restore the party. Among the former members of the party, Eduard Fusek (elected to the Prague council in 1938) and Jan Horak (senator 1935-39) sat in the parliament for the People's Party, Frantisek Preucil for the National Socialists and Alexander Vido for the Slovak Democratic Party.
