It was built in 1797. Excellent technique with softly textured oil paint. Rich, vivid jewel-toned colors.This painting shows a view of the bell tower & highlights an area of the building in a perspective not normally seen. The building now looks slightly different as this was painted almost 70 years ago. Signed/dated 'E. DENNISTON '57' in lower right corner. The back of the canvas panel has a date of Feb 14, 1965, which is when the painting was framed. Artist's full name is on the back. Gorgeous brushwork and stunning detail, painted extremely well and shows shadows and light to beautiful effect.Set in original top quality wood frame with natural woodgrain which has been woodstained.
