Brown, measuring 3.5 by 3 inches, and in very good condition with light staining, minor rubbing to the borders, and heavy evidence of mounting on the verso. ORIGINAL TICKET TO THE U.S. SENATE IMPEACHMENT OF PRESIDENT ANDREW JOHNSON The impeachment proceedings lasted from March 13 to May 26th, 1868. Ultimately, the Senate voted 35 to 19 to remove President Johnson from office, one vote short of the necessary two-thirds allowing Johnson to be acquitted. Three identical Johnson impeachment tickets recently sold for $1,225 at Early American History Auctions in October 2005, $1,428 at Case Antiques Auctions & Appraisals in October 2011, and $1,315 at Heritage Auctions in November 2011.
