Description: Up for auction is a Oklahoma Sooners Riddell mini helmet signed by legendary running back Billy Sims. Sims played college football for the Oklahoma Sooners and won the 1978 Heisman Trophy. Sims was also a 2X All American (1978 & 1979). Sims went on to be the #1 overall pick in the 1980 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions. Sims earned the Rookie of the Year Award in 1980. Sims played for the Lions from 1980-1984 making the Pro Bowl 3 times. Sims was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1995. Sims signed the mini helmet boldly in silver and added "78 Heisman" to commemorate winning the 1978 Heisman Trophy. The mini helmet is in excellent condition. The mini helmet will come with a certificate of authenticity and hologram from Home Plate Autographs. Also included will be a photo of Sims at the signing. Note: There may be a glare to the mini helmet in the auction photo. The glare is in the auction photo and not on the mini helmet itself which is in excellent condition.
