Description: This collector’s edition is a 1915 autobiographical novel of a physically handicapped boy growing to manhood. It was written by W. Somerset Maugham and published by the International Collectors Library. I purchased it new about 40 years ago and it has been gently read once. It is in very good condition (see pics) with a tight spine and contains a matching attached ribbon place marker (pic 5). The book has a deckle edge (pics 9-11) popular in the late 1800s and preferred by many collectors for the more antiquarian and refined look and feel. It has the Louis XVI binding (pics 1&4) used by ICL for significant English novels of the 20th century. The replica binding is in jade green with gilt foil decorations. The original paper insert describing the book and binding (pics 6&7) is also included. The book is approximately 8.5 by 5.75 by 1.5 inches and has 565 pages. This copy has outer page discoloration (pics 9-11) and the insert also has discoloration along one edge (right edge in pic 7). Inside the front and back covers there is age/glue stains (pics 12&13). There are minor picks (e.g., pic 8), dents and wear, especially to the book corners and edges (pics 9-11 &14). There is a notable wrinkle/dent to the upper right section of the front cover (pic 15). Free shipping will be USPS media rate. Please contact me with any questions and thanks for looking!
