Nintendo Game Boy Pocket -- Vintage, great shape, EVERYTHING WORKS.

Description: It's Thanksgiving 1996, and we know what that means: Getting into the car and heading up I-680 to Sacramento and Grandma's house. Sure it's nice to see her, but the trip there is 3 hours of grief, sitting in the middle seat of the Previa next to your sister. Your little tween brain is figuring out the meaning of "mixed blessings". If only there were some way to make the time pass... And here it is -- the GameBoy Pocket. It runs all the standard GameBoy games, and doesn't chew up batteries too badly. There's a headphone jack so you can play it without your folks threatening to throw it (and maybe you) out of the car when the startup music for Pokemon plays for the 27th time. Three hours is still a long time to be sitting in a car, but, with the Pocket, the trip is much better than it might have been. Now, if the batteries (not included) will hold on for the trip back, you'll be in great shape. This one: it's in good to very good shape. Games work in it, as does everything else, including (obviously) the display and the sound, in wonderful mono. There are a few minor nits here and there, but nothing that's too bad -- just enough that you can claim that it was yours back in the day without marring the experience. (For some reason, the pictures really bring out the specks of dust on the case; they're barely visible in real life.) No games are included, but there are plenty of those kicking around on eBay and elsewhere. This Pokemon Red offering, in particular, might be an especially good choice! Thanksgiving is coming up soon, and that drive isn't getting any shorter -- better lock this one in!
