L-00 with a vintage-like design from the early 1930s The Original Collection has been newly added to the lineup since 2020. This is the small-bodied L-00 Original, which symbolizes the early days of Gibson acoustic guitars. Gibson began developing and producing flat-top acoustic guitars in the late 1920s and released the L-00 around 1931. The L-00, described in the 1934 Gibson catalog as having the "best-balanced sound," is characterized by its small size, which gives it a snappy, light, warm, and crisp sound. Made in Montana, USA. A classic style with a thick-edged burst color, a fire stripe pickguard, and a rectangular bridge. The body is all solid wood, with a Sitka spruce top, mahogany sides/back, and antiqued binding on both the top and back. The slim-tapered mahogany neck is not a vintage spec, but it is thin and rounded for easy grip. The pegs are Golden Age nickel tuners reminiscent of the 1930s, and the head logo is designed with a script Gibson logo that exudes a classic texture. The pickups are L.R.Baggs VTC, and volume/tone controls are available on the sound hole edge.
