Most compressors gradually and dynamically reduce the gain when the level exceeds the threshold. The ClearComp's "DT" topology dynamically changes the threshold with a fixed gain reduction, achieving a natural and transparent compression effect with a low noise floor, low coloration, and a wide dynamic range. It also features a multi-color LED bar graph that lights up in five stages and has the ability to visualize the envelope level in real time. The gain control features a unique "Variable gain bandwidth" circuit that keeps the tone tight and clear while controlling the noise floor. In addition, since it does not only cut the low end, it functions as a tilt control to get an accurate response from the pickup, and when combined with the pre-tone control, it can achieve a wide range of useful effects that distinguish it from conventional pedal compressors. This unit is designed to find the optimal compression sound that can be widely adapted to the player's playing style, genre, and instrument suitability, and can handle a wide range of sounds from sweet, clean, and sensitive tones to high-gain, edgy distortion. It realizes and creates a control effect that responds to the player's senses unique to pedal effects, and an expressive sound. [Controls] ClearComp has controls just like studio equipment. Compression: Controls the input gain of the compressor. Ratio: Adjusts the ratio of gain reduction from light compression (1:2) to full limiting (1:20). Attack: Controls the attack time. It can be set from 5ms, which is useful for slap, to 100ms for a more natural release. Release: Adjusts the time at which the gain reduction is applied, from 30ms to 3s. Blend: Blends the compressed signal (effect sound) with the unaffected input signal (dry sound). Level: Sets the output level of the compressor. Threshold switch: A three-position switch that sets the starting point of the dynamic threshold to "HI", "MID", or "LOW". Depending on the output level of the instrument you connect, select "HI" for high-output pickups and active instruments, "MID" for normal-output guitars and basses, and "LOW" for low-output instruments such as vintage single coils.
