Description: A very rare monster Onkyo TX-8500 with all new display LED's, function and tuning indicators, professionally serviced. The front glass is missing but that doesn't interfere with any functionality. I had it serviced November 2022, see the receipt picture. The main filter caps were replaced along with some smaller components. The case has some small nicks and marks, check the pictures. It is a steel fist wrapped in a velvet glove for sound, very warm and very powerful, bass response is notably strong. It is very heavy so shipping will not be cheap, local pickup is welcome. The faceplate was removed, cleaned & polished with Blue Magic. The case was removed and cleaned, dust was blown out from the interior. All knobs and switch covers were removed and cleaned, all potentiometers and switches were cleaned and treated with Deoxit F5 or Deoxit F100L Fader Lube for long term protection. All functions and speaker connections were tested good Onkyo’s contribution to the Monster receiver genre is the Onkyo TX-8500. It was Onkyo’s top of the line receiver at the time and put out an under rated 150 watts per channel into 4 ohms and 110 watts per channel into 8 ohms. This line of Onkyo receivers including the TX-2500, TX-4500, TX-6500 and TX-8500 are all under appreciated units. The build quality, performance and features are all second to none. Onkyo was a little late to the scene with their monster receiver so it didn’t receive the fanfare that the Pioneer and Marantz receivers received at the time but it is easily comparable. Tuning range: FM, MW Power output: 110 watts per channel into 8 ohms (stereo) Frequency response: 15Hz to 30kHz Total harmonic distortion: 0.1% Damping factor: 50 Input sensitivity: 2.5mV (MM), 150mV (line) Signal to noise ratio: 75dB (MM), 90dB (line) Output: 150mV (line), 1V (Pre out) Semiconductors: 1 x FET, 95 x transistors, 8 x IC, 58 x diodes Dimensions: 570 x 160 x 455mm Weight: 25kg ALL ITEMS ARE DESCRIBED AS BEST AS POSSIBLE AND DUE TO THE NATURE OF USED ITEMS ALL SALES ARE FINAL. I am very honest about any issues that exist, just check my feedback. One buyer reviewed me as “Honest, Honest, Honest Seller”. The one recent bad feedback was left by a scammer. I treat buyers like I would expect to be treated. I am a hobbyist that buys items that need help, clean/fix them up, enjoy them for a while and sometimes sell them. I do not work on other people's equipment. If you need someone to service your equipment, I recommend Just Audio in White Marsh, MD. If you need help hooking up anything you buy from me, just message me and I would be more than happy to assist. Check out the photos. The photos display exactly what this item is. I would like to guarantee this item. However, too many unprincipled buyers that strip parts and then wanted to return electronics as being defective force me to protect myself from this type of abuse. I will pack well and insure the package during shipping. One recent buyer stated that he thought that his unit could have been dropped from a truck at highway speed and still survived intact. If the shipping cost seems excessive, eBay seems to overestimate shipping costs so I have been offering to refund anything over the actual shipping cost. I tell them the size and weight and they estimate from there. · Nothing else, no further warranties or guarantees are implied. This vintage item is being listed and sold AS-IS because of parts swappers, people hooking stuff up wrong and scammers.· I video record the unit working, as well as the process of both packing and shipping so that there is concrete evidence that the item I sent is what was listed. I will also have video recordings of returns being opened. I will not only take this evidence to eBay but I will take legal action as Mail Fraud is a Federal offense.
