Description: This Cabinet Card portrait features performer, Minnie DeHaven. A deeper research dive is necessary to provide a more complete background concerning Miss DeHaven. However, here is what I uncovered. The University of Georgia's library has some ephemera related to Dehaven. The collection includes information from 1896 concerning the Minnie DeHaven Comedy Company. Secondly, the US Naval War College in Newport, Rhode Island has in it's archives, "a letter of thanks" from Admiral George Dewey to Minnie DeHaven. The letter was written from his flagship the "US Olympia" while it was anchored in the Philippines in 1899. This cabinet card photograph was taken by the Roshon Studio in Lebanon, Pennsylvania. C. S. Roshon is the photographer who took this photograph. The Roshon Gallery also had locations in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and Morristown, New Jersey. Roshon was an excellent photographer and produced a number of unique images. This photograph was likely taken in 1892, the date listed on the reverse of the card. This cabinet card is in very good condition (See Scans).
