Description: This is a dog chew from the upper part of an elk antler. These thinner walled and are softer and easier to chew than base pieces and most deer antlers. If you are worried about a dog cracking a tooth these are a better choice although they are still hard. It is easier to get to the core of an upper elk antler chew and therefore many dogs prefer these. They do not last nearly as long as a lower piece or a dense deer antler but they do still clean the teeth well. These are great for older dogs and puppies that won't have to work as hard to get to the core of the antler.This is the actual chew you will receive. Approx. (5.5 oz.) These provide great minerals for the dog and they are long lasting. Best of all most dogs love them. Also these do not splinter like some other bones. These are also great for any rodent that you may have including mice, hamsters, squirrels, etc.Please make sure you buy antlers that are on the big side and not on the small side. I usually take them away when they get to be of small size as they can be a choking hazard. Also be sure to supervise your pet and make sure they grind them down slowly and dont try to crack them with there teeth. Warning: Antlers can and do cause slab fractures on some dogs. Anything hard has the potential to do this so keep this in mind and supervise your dog when chewing these. Also it is best to use a large chew that they cannot clamp down on.
