LP, Miles Davis - Porgy and Bess, Columbia CS 8085, 1959 1st 6-EYE, Vinyl Damage

Description: Original First Press with these matrices: Matrix / Runout (Side A Runout, stamped): XSM44663-2DMatrix / Runout (Side B Runout, stamped): XSM44664-2D Looked at first to be a very nice 1st Press except upon examination there was SOME SCRATCHING AND SLIGHT DAMAGE TO THE FIRST CUT ON BOTH SIDES, AT THE SAME LOCATION, SUCH THAT THESE CUTS ARE LIKELY POORLY PLAYABLE AND MAYBE UNPLAYABLE. The rest of the vinyl is pristine, there is no wear at spindle hole, but with the damage to the first cuts, I will give the LP a final grade of G and price accordingly. Might be worth the price for the jacket alone. There is light corner wear, light bottom edge wear, no edge wear otherwise, no splits, rings or marks. The LP was stored in the original Columbia clear plastic inner sleeve, which was damaged at the opening. I will leave it in the sleeve but store the LP in a replacement clear plastic inner sleeve.
