Description: Up for sale is 5 issue run in the series JLA (1997) Issues #66 - 70. JLA was a comic book published by DC Comics from January 1997 to April 2006 featuring the Justice League of America. In 1997, DC Comics launched a new Justice League series titled JLA, written by Grant Morrison with art by Howard Porter and inker John Dell, and colorist Pat Garrahy. Morrison stayed as writer for the series through issue #41. This series used as its core the team's original and most famous seven members: Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash (Wally West), Green Lantern (Kyle Rayner), and the Martian Manhunter. The team also received a new headquarters, the "Watchtower", based on the Moon. JLA was DC's best-selling title for several years. JLA ended with Issue #125, one of several titles to be cancelled at the conclusion of the Infinite Crisis storyline. As stated above, this listing is for JLA (1997) Issues #66-70. Issue #66 sees the introduction of a pair of warrior-priests the likes of which the world hasn't seen in thousands of years. These lords of the Earth, from kingdoms that predate history, have no patience for the lowly members of the Justice League, and have very violent ways of expressing themselves! Featuring the first appearance of Manitou Raven, an Indian mystic. In Issue #67, the two mysterious ancient champions lay waste to a Florida amusement park, so the World's Greatest Super-Heroes hit them hard! But the two brutal war-chiefs are much tougher than they seem, and as Green Lantern falls, it's a desperate struggle for the rest of the heroes to stay alive! Issue #68 is an "Obsidian Age" prologue issue. After the events of last issue, the JLA and a host of DC's most powerful mages (including Zatanna, Tempest and Faust) are left to investigate the raven-black magic that is still stirring near the Atlantic Trench, former resting place of the undersea continent of Atlantis. When the continent itself is suddenly found above the waves, along with evidence that Aquaman may have survived, the League commits to a course of action that will change the face of the team and the lives of its members forever. Featuring Black Manta!Issue #69 begins the 7-part "The Obsidian Age: The Hunt for Aquaman" storyline! With the JLA seemingly gone for good, a new group of heroes arises to take their place. The new lineup is revealed in Issue #69, which includes Firestorm, the Atom, Green Arrow, Nightwing, Major Disaster, Hawkgirl, Faith, and Jason Blood. Finally, Issue #70 has Part 2 of the 7-Part saga "The Obsidian Age." At last, the mystery of the Ancients is revealed! Yet not all is peaceful in the mythic realm of Atlantis, for a bizarre group of villains from the far future has come on a mission of vengeance and destruction. And if these villains have their way, Atlantis will be laid waste. Featuring the new villains Sela and the Anointed One.All of the books are first prints and come bagged and boarded and are in the Very Fine to Near Mint range.
