Description: Original one of a kind painting is about rumor of how actress Jean Harlow was denied medical care when she became deathly ill, because her mother who was a devoted Christian Scientist thought it was better to 'pray the sickness away', following the word of it's leader at the time, Mary Baker Eddy. The story was taken from Kenneth Anger's "Hollywood Babylon" book and is just a rumor about the event in question. The piece was from an exhibition called "Hollywood Eats Its Own: Rumors, Death, and Scandal in Tinseltown" created by pulp surrealist David Russell Talbott, signed on the bottom right by the artist. The painting measures 24" x 30" , acrylic on a gallery wrapped canvas with unpainted sides, 1/2" deep. Sometime associated with the California Lowbrow scene, Talbott has shown his work across the U.S., and his art has been published internationally. His paintings have been recognized by curators from MOMA, MOCASD, and the Whitney, as well as lowbrow icon's La Luz de Jesus Gallery's Billy Shire and art critic Mat Gleason.
