Description: Hand-woven lidded sewing basket by Cherokee artist Rebecca Reed, made in the 1960s out of honeysuckle vine with walnut dye. This is in flawless original condition and still retains its tag from the Indian Arts and Crafts Board (within the U.S. Department of the Interior), attesting that the company – the Qualla Arts and Crafts Mutual Inc. of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians – is a “certified Indian enterprise.” Highly collectible, these tiny baskets with the original tags can fetch upwards of $200 at auction today. Dimensions: 3.5” high by 4.5” at its widest, with an opening of 2” at the mouth. Thanks for looking!
