Honestly, I am an interior designer and tried to order from Amazon from the viral Instagram companies selling linen and velvet curtains. The difference between those and these Ikea ones amazed even me. These are stunning. Read the reviews. The Amazon ones, too much fake polyester fabric that cast a metallic glow that wasn't flattering. These are straight looking velvet in a rich deep charcoal. Think Restoration Hardware a few years ago....before the 70's and brutalism overtook home furnishings. The soft cotton velvet falls elegantly, adding depth to the dark-grey colour while insulating against heat and cold. Since the fabric will shrink when washing it is a good idea to wash the curtains prior to cutting/hemming. Use SY iron-on hemming strip to shorten the curtains without sewing. Velvet can be prone to marks/creases. To remove them, iron the fabric with steam on the reverse side, then gently brush the pile where the mark/crease is to lift it. 15 gliders and hooks are usually recommended for each curtain with a width of 55⅛".
