You see, for those who do not know much about what happened to Europe after World War II and the begining of the Cold War, let me tell you. I have members of my own family, who are orginally from Greek towns in northern Epirus which is now of course Albania. I have heard many stories such as the one in the movie, of how my own family was seperated once the borders of Greece and Albania closed. I have an uncle who was not much older than the character of David, walking with another boy from their town and trying to cross the border and get to relatives on the other side. So yes, I do believe the story and I do believe that something like this can happen to any one. So before one starts saying this movie is nonsense or it can't possibly be true, go and find some one who has lived something similar to this and ask them for yourselves. As for the acting I thought young Ben Tibber did an excellent job portarying a young boy lost and confused by the world around him. Just by looking at the expressions on his face made you fully understand what he was feeling and going through. That takes a lot of talent to do, and Ben Tibber certainly has that. Also Jim Caviezel is as always, marvelous in this movie, and even though he has a very limited screen presence, it is enough to make you understand what the importance of his character is to that of David's survival. I highly recommend this movie, and I hope that when you do watch it, it will encourage you to read about that time in Europe's history which for the most part is not known by most of us.
