Description: We are offering an exceptional porcelain, Museum Quality, Art Deco figurine featuring 3 Girls Dancing. It was designed by Karl Tutter and Made in Germany Circa 1920’s for Lorenz Hutschenreuther Kunstabteilung, Porzellan, Germany. This is a 2-part display, which, when displayed together, measures approximately 10.25" tall and 8 3/4" wide. The primary piece titled "May Dance" features three young girls dancing with hands held together in a form in which they are mutually dependent on the others for balance. The piece accentuates the faces of the girls. The delicate details and lifelike expressions of the figurines capture the essence of the carefree spirit of the era. Please note the 24K gold decorations on the dresses The separate base, also called a “frog”, is designed as a floral display. The 12 holes surrounding the center are for the insertion of flower stems. The “May Dance” porcelain was often used as an exquisite table centerpiece, decorated with flowers, for special occasions. The underside of each piece has the Hutschenreuther Selb Kunstabteilung, Germany stamp and an oval containing a lion with the initials: L.H.S. The K. Tutter name is impressed into the porcelain on the underside of each piece. The number 6 is imbedded on the base of the large piece and written in gold on the underside of the frog. Interestingly, there is the initial “W.” written in gold on the underside as well. There is a gold accent ring on the edge of the frog’s rim and a matching gold highlight at the base of the “May Dance” piece. This stunning piece is perfect with no chips, cracks, rubs or crazing on the girls or the frog. It weighs 4lbs, 3 oz, plus packaging. It is fine porcelain crafting, in mint condition with delicate detailing. Rarely will you find such a piece of vintage elegance and nostalgic charm. Please view pictures prior to bidding.
