I first thought about trying to buy her a 1st edition of TKM, but realized quickly that I was a poor college student, and a first edition was way out of my price range. After speaking with a few book dealers, I found out that Harper Lee signed books for a local shop in her hometown of Monroeville Alabama. I called up the shop (Magnolia Cottage), and asked about buying a copy of the book and if Ms. Lee would inscribe it to my wife. The nice lady on the phone said she would certainly ask, and if not, would at least be able to send a signed copy of the book. A couple of weeks later, I received a book signed and inscribed to my wife "Happy Birthday Annie - Harper Lee". Needless to say, this is still my wife's favorite present of all time. After receiving the inscribed copy, I called the shop back up to thank the nice lady and to let her know that my girlfriend loved the book. I then asked if it would be possible to purchase a few more signed copies (not inscribed), and she said "of course". So, I bought a few copies, and it is the non-inscribed book that I am selling in this auction. The overall condition of this book is amazing. There is some general wear to the dust jacket as you can see in the photo, but the book itself is in perfect condition. Everything is original. It is signed on the half title page. It has never been read, and it has been stored away since I received it in the mail back in 1999. I'm not a book dealer, so I don't know how to grade them, but the pictures you see above are of the book you will receive. Unlike the vast majority of the signed Harper Lee TKM books on eBay, this one INCLUDES a PSA/DNA Letter of Authentication, so you can rest assure that you are buying a genuine Harper Lee autographed book.
