The first flat-top model was born in 1926 (L-0/L-1) from GIBSON, a manufacturer of archtop guitars, banjos, and mandolins. L-0 and L-1 were small bodies without pickguards. Later, around 1931, the L-00 was born as a successor to the L-1. At first it was an ebony color, but later sunburst and natural colors were added to the lineup. From around this time, GIBSON's flat top guitars came standard with pickguards. Gibson This is a very popular small body model, now available in ebony color as an ORIGINAL COLLECTION! Made in USA, Montana factory, brand new, regular imported product. BODY is all veneer, Sitka spruce top, mahogany SIDE/BACK. Uses non-scalloped X bracing and is equipped with a rectangular bridge. BODY binding has been applied to both the TOP and BACK since around 1937, and this model also has 1-ply binding on the TOP and BACK. The Gibson scale mahogany NECK has a slim taper that makes it easy to play. The head uses a script logo and is equipped with three pegs. Glue-bonded dovetail neck joint and nitrocellulose lacquer finish (gloss) are familiar specifications. L.R.BAGGS' ELEMENT VTC is used for the pickup, and VOLUME/TONE control is possible at the sound hole edge.
