George Wright (1872 - 1951) Signed, Listed Artist Western Art Etching Orig Frame

Description: For auction is a beautiful etching by noted artist, George Wright, American (1872 - 1951). Entitled "Back to the Earth"., the etching featuring a two-horse hitch wagon with a rustic homestead in the distance. The print is signed by the artist, G Wright, with the acronyms for the National Academy (NA) and Society of American Etchers (SAE) on the lower right. My research indicates that the etching was a part of a very limited run of 100 prints, which were sent to members of the Society of Etchers in 1944. The etching is in beautiful condition and is housed in a simple dark wood frame, that I believe is original. The frame has some scuffing and wear, mainly to the edges, but is otherwise solid. The etching is matted with a light weight, cream colored mat, which is faded and could be easily replaced. I photographed the print out of the frame and mat, and there is little to no discoloration or fading. The framed piece measures 18" x 15", the sheet size is 16" x 12" and the image size is approximately 12" x 9 1/8". Winning bidder to pay $25.00 domestic shipping.
