It is recommended that the best way to remove the flywheel is to use a torque wrench set to 50 ft-lbs. Most flywheels will come off with less torque than that. If not, stop applying more torque to it. Use a hammer to moderately striking the end of the cassette puller to shock it. Remember to wear safety glasses and make sure you have something to grab onto the flywheel to avoid damage from falling on the floor. Heating the flywheel will also help if all else fails, applying heat to the flywheel itself will cause it to expand, while the higher mass crank will stay cooler and expand more slowly. The difference in expansion rate will help loosen the cassette from the crank.
