Um okay...with the Frightful Four awaiting the outcome! I've had this book for decades, and it was well-cared for, stored away virtually undisturbed in all that time. Before offering it for sale, I carefully took the time to eyeball each page to make sure there was nothing obvious hiding in there that might otherwise be missed. Here is the generally-accepted description of a VG/FN comic book (as you can find on multiple online grading websites): 5.0 VERY GOOD/FINE (VG/FN): An above-average but well used comic book. An accumulation of bindery/printing defects is allowed. Minor to moderate cover wear apparent, with minor to moderate creases and/or dimples. Inks have moderate to low reflectivity. Blunted corners are increasingly common, as is minor to moderate staining, discoloration, and/or foxing. Stamped or inked arrival dates may be present. A minor to moderate spine roll is allowed. A spine split of up to 1/2" may be present. Staples may show minor discoloration. Minor staple tears and minor stress lines may also be present, as well as minor rust migration. Paper is tan to brown with no signs of brittleness. Centerfold may be loose. Minor interior tears may also be present. (I include this description so you can refer to it while following along with my observations below.) Surfaceflat, still with great shine, smooth to the touch (though not like glass or anything)Edge Wearthe photos show this only has minor to moderate edge wear (for example, see middle of bottom front edge)Folds/Creasesonly one fold remnant in bottom left of back. As for creases, just below the issue number, you can see a color-breaking crease line -- I can't really feel anything there though with my finger, so it's quite smooth.Wrinklingnot much in the front -- more in the back in lower spine area, mostly near couponCornersslightly bluntedPrinting DefectsnoneArrival StampsnoneSpineobviously the book has been read a couple of times at least, leaving behind the color breaks, spine ticks and little stress lines you can easily see in the close-up, in-your-face side photos I provided. That spine edge also is slightly darkened.Spine RollnoneTears/SplitsnoneStaplesshows some discoloration -- both still look good and go all the way through to the centerfold.Back coverfaded with that spine edge showing that darkening I mentioned above -- not as white as it must have been all those decades ago.SmudgesHolding the book up to the light, I see one just below the Sandman on the front cover and one on the back right below the words "PERSONAL CHRISTMAS CARDS" in lower-left area -- both are visible in photos.Surface build-upnot much -- a touch perhaps -- more fading than build-up. No foxing detected.Inner coverssome Silver Age tanning along edges, but clean.Page coloroff-whitePage conditiongood with no sign of brittleness; everything seems well attached -- some have the "minor interior tears" as allowed above.BOTTOM LINEThis book easily satisfies the various criteria above. It has the shine of a copy in much better shape. I expect no quibbling on the VG/FN grade I gave it, though I probably might have been okay with FN- as well, but I like to be thorough, and this one nails the description above, so that seems very safe and fair. If you're okay with a below-mid-grade copy that presents extremely well, then this one might work for you. Where do you get more details or camera angles than what I've provided? ABSOLUTELY NOWHERE! Look at my feedback and you'll see "item as described" posted over and over again! I cannot believe other sellers expect you to make a purchase decision with just one or two photos -- ridiculous -- you always see what you're getting from me!
