What Do We Think This "Silver Surfer" MG6 not only transcends space, but tonal boundaries as well! The one-piece aluminum pickguard sitting on an Inca Silver alder body is a really cool aesthetic, topped off with some nickel-covered Fano humbuckers that absolutely sing. Speaking of pickups, these humbuckers sit in the medium output range, allowing for both clarity and punch. The bridge pickup has a nice snap thanks to the Gotoh 510 Vintage Trem, and a thick but well-sculpted lower midrange. It sounds great with some gain, and cuts very nicely. The neck pickup has a nice chirp in the high end, complemented by a warmer lower register. There's some very rich harmonic content here, delivering a really pleasant playing experience. You don't have to work this guitar hard at all; it produces great tones with ease. When plugged into a Marshall JCM 800, you can nail some Tom Morello inspired riffs and sounds. How Does It Play The neck profile is a moderate “early 60’s” C that leaves enough on the shoulder to support the hand and prevent fatigue, while affording a thin enough profile for blazing fretwork. The string action hovers barely a hair over 4/64” on the low E at the 12th fret, and under 4/64” on the high E without any buzz.
