Description: Back in the mid-to-late '90s and early 2000s, I was fanatically into all things Kurt and Courtney - including the study of the many details surrounding Kurt Cobain's untimely death, and the possible involvement of his widow, Courtney Love. At some point around the 10th anniversary, I reached out to Courtney's father, Hank Harrison. I had several email exchanges with Hank over a period of a month or so, and he graciously answered the dozens of questions that I presented as a curious fan and armchair detective. After several email exchanges, Hank offered to send me a CD-R with the book he had been writing for years by that time, and I was of course happy to accept. This is that very CD-R; three PDF files, locked with a password. Over 700 pages of content. Unedited, mistakes and all. I cut out the return address Hank included in the envelope with the CD, and taped it inside the jewel case, right underneath his handwritten post-it note containing the password for the files, adding my own handwritten note on the back of the address label, detailing the disc's contents so that if I were not around to tell the person that ended up with my stuff someday exactly what was on this CD-R that it should be kept and considered to be of importance and value. This version of Hank's book is in three separate PDF files, each of which he locked with a password. There are well over 700 pages, and this version is not fully edited, so there are numerous spelling and other errors. I searched the internet and was not able to find another copy like this one; the version that was published in 2017 was only 368 pages, and I didn't find any evidence of a CD copy like this making its way around. Whatever you may think about the man, Hank was a good writer, no doubt. There is plenty of intrigue, drama, humor, intelligence, insight, poetry and prose in this early, unpublished edition of what later became "Kurt Cobain, Beyond Nirvana: The Legacy of Kurt Cobain", and then"Love Kills: The Assassination of Kurt Cobain". This is certainly a unique piece of the Kurt and Courtney epic and would be a great addition for a serious Cobain case collector.
