Description: Equisetum scirpoides 'Contorta' Dwarf Pot Scrubber A North American native which forms spreading, tangled masses of green, jointed stems. Naturally found in wet soils in coniferous forests, along streams and marshes. This wonderful little species is the smallest in the genus, with each stem growing between 1"- 8" tall, and a spread up to 18" wide. Requires constantly wet soil, in full sun, in mild climates, and morning only or filtered sun, in hot climates. Bundles of the stems have been used for scouring and cleaning, hence its common name. May be grown in pots (standing in water, in saucers). Easy to grow. Very hardy - USDA Zones 4-9 Definitely a conversation piece. Rare. This offering is for one well-rooted and established, small division-grown plant in a 2" pot. Shipped in pot.
