Text description beneath the picture (subject to any spelling errors due to the OCR program used) DRUMNADROCHIT HOTEL.This spot is about a mile from the mouth of Glen Urquhart, a beautiful valley stretching for about twelve miles above Drumnadrochit to Invercannich. It is traversed by the River Enrick, which expands into a small lake, called Loch Meikie, about the middle of the glen. Temple Pier, on the bank of Loch Ness, is the usual starting-point for excursions. About Drumnadrochit and the rest of the middle and lower portions, the glen abounds in picturesque scenery. Contracting at one place into a narrow rocky gorge, above Loch Meikle it opens into an oval vale dotted with mansions and country-seats. The glen is well wooded on both sides; and on one side is commanded for a great part of its length by the heights of Balmacaan deer-forest.
