Walt Disney's Chip N' Dale was created by Bill Peet, for "Private Pluto" (released 1943), and went on to star in 24 short films. Their distinct personalities were further developed for Donald Duck short films by Jack Hannah and Gerri Geronimi. Decades later, Disney Big Figures debuted in 1989 with a simple release of the "Disney Standard Characters" Mickey, Donald Duck, Pluto and Goofy. However, Disney retail branches expanded the collection to include exclusive and limited-edition figure releases based on popular feature films, issued through The Disney Store, The Disney Catalog, and Disney Parks. Designed by artists Kevin and Jody, this Walt Disney Collectibles sculpture celebrates the classic cartoon co-stars, with an intricate and original sculpt, a delicately applied color palette, shimmering snow base, and soft faux fur "Santa" beard accent. This piece was released exclusively during Fall 2004, sold out and "retired", and has long since been sought after by collectors. The rare early Big Figure is comprised of a Donald Duck figure and a snow-themed base measuring a complete 19" x 19" x 16".
