Description: In its original dust jacket, this is a stated First Edition with no additional printings listed, a first printing per convention, of The Sea of Grass (NY, Alfred Knoph, 1937) and basis of the 1947 film starring Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn. The book is in about very good condition. Binding is quite square and well intact with no damage to gutters or hinges but not as tight as fine. Exterior shows a small bump to top front corner Page ends show minor age toning. Top stain is largely uniform but has a very short thin streak of white showing from underlying page. Interior is fine with no foxing or browning to end sheets and no names or marks other than a small penciled 1st Ed with a price of $140.00 to top of FFEP. In an older archival cover, the dust jacket is price intact and in near very good condition with small chips to heel, crown, corners, top front edge and a larger one at rear top corner. Edges show light wear and rear panel has small stain at center. The opening bid is $35.00 with a buy it now far below the going retail rate.
