CHINON 40 SM XL SUPER 8MM CAMERA & BAIA REVIEWER 2 FILM EDITOR ANALOG VIEWER OLD

Description: WHY SHOOT SUPER 8MM FILM TODAY IN THE 21st CENTURY?! WITH SUPER 8 CAMERAS, WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN XL & NON XL?! WHY DO i NEED A SUPER 8 CAMERA THAT DOESN'T HAVE 24 F/SEC. TODAY IN THE HD AGE?! WITH SUPER 8 CAMERAS, CAN YOU USE SILENT FILM CARTRIDGES INSIDE SOUND CAMERAS?! We have here a Super 8mm camera & editor viewer combo: we have a Chinon 40 SM XL Film Sound camera in great clean condition, we also have a Baia Reviewer 2 editor which is in good condition as well. The camera shows no signs of heavy use, the battery terminal has no corrosion, the optics are clear & fungus free, a well maintained camera from over 40 years ago. The editor viewer also shows too that it was well maintained for over fifty years; it has: a working light bulb, the moveable reel holders work, and the original box is still intact, and there is the original manual and splicing tape pack (I will add a roll of splicing tape - not pictured). People love this medium and this format, some use it for reasons of nostalgia, some shoot it as a cheaper alternative of Super 16mm. some shoot for experimentation purposes, others shoot this format to transfer and combine with HD imagery. Unlike their non XL brethren - these XL cameras are designed for low-light shooting subjects. They have smaller f-stops (wider apertures to allow more light), quieter motors, brighter viewfinders, and shooting 18 f/s as well as single frame option. Most shooters who transfer to HD prefer 24 f/s but the good thing about 18f/s (the 8mm standard speed) you get more light which is invaluable in low-light situations - especially if combined with fast movie film, and lastly the single frame option which lets in the most light and opens up the world or special effects shooting. Although sound on film was a passing trend, these sound cameras can still accept silent film cartridges. Pros:Clean camera & optics which shows little use. Bright viewfinder, clean battery terminals, no scratches, well maintained.Shoots silent film cartridges, has single shot capability. The editor viewer still has a functioning light-bulb, includes a spare reel, a reel of white leader film, splicing tape and the original manual. The original box is included after over half a century. Cons:The splicing tape package envelope is old (I'm throwing in a fresh tape roll). GREAT ANALOG FILM COMBO OF THIS TIMELESS FORMAT - THIS KIT IS AWAITING YOUR PURCHASE TO GET IT WHILE IT'S STILL AVAILABLE! *All sales within the continental U.S. only!
